My name is Linda Cardiff, and I grew up in New York and California. I went to school at UC Berkeley, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in history.

Currently, I’m the executive editor of an investment newsletter, a real estate developer, and the president of a consulting firm. One of my greatest passions is working with investors and completing projects.

My most notable accomplishment is having raised three wonderful children. I'm also a founding board member of Putnam Clubhouse. It has always been important to me to be involved in the local community. I started an organization that built a pool at Monte Vista High School in Danville and have served on many PTA boards, chaired fundraisers and auctions, worked in classrooms, served Meals on Wheels, and held offices for the Moraga Junior Women’s Club.

In the interest of privacy, I choose not to disclose the details of my personal familial experience with mental health, but I will just say that it was a hellish experience for my family members and me until I met Molly Hamaker and began to form a clubhouse.

My main interest is my family. Our family likes to travel together, play games, ski, fish, hike, and celebrate holidays together.

My dance experience includes some training in ballet. I'm dancing for “So, Do You Think You Can Dance? Reach For the Stars!” because, frankly, Tamara talked me into it! And of course I want to support the mission of Putnam Clubhouse. We are in the infancy of understanding the brain and need to redouble our efforts to aid those stricken with these disorders.

Linda & B‍‍‍ertus

My name is Bertus Stiehler, and I grew up in Witbank, South Africa, where I attended school at Klipfontein primary school, Reynopark high school, and Ngangala Further Education and Training College.

After moving to the United States, I started my own business called Stiehler Dance Studios, where my 12 years of dance experience and instructional expertise spans many dance styles.
My greatest passion is helping people learn that they actually can dance. It makes it worth all of the long hours when I can see them achieve their goals. At the World Dance Council Championships, I had the honor of being the winner in the Showdance Division.

As far as being involved in my local community, I teach enrichment programs for children and have also been involved with feeding the homeless through a church program.

I come from a loving family; my mom and dad have been married for 32 years. In addition to dancing, I like to play video games and love wildlife.

I did have a relative who experienced mental health issues, so I'm participating in "So, Do You Think You Can Dance? Reach For The Stars!" in order to help generate awareness about Putnam Clubhouse and mental illness in general.
