Back To Dancers Page

My name is Sergio Garcia and I have been teaching dance with Arthur Murray for more than 13 years. As a child in a Latin family, I grew up around music and dancing, but could have never imagined it would lead me to where I am today. Through dancing, I’ve had the chance to travel the world, meet amazing people, and most importantly, had the privilege to help people’s lives change for the better. I’ve always been an active and competitive person in all aspects of my life including sports, motorcycle racing, and bodybuilding competitions though nothing has ever brought me as much joy as dancing and competing with Arthur Murray.  I’m proud of the accomplishments thus far in my career, and it’s an amazing honor to be able to help Putnam Clubhouse with such a great cause.

Arthur Murray Dance Centers

I grew up in the suburbs of NYC and attended Fairfield University majoring in Political Science. I earned my JD at Fordham Law School in NYC.  I am a Director at BioCentury, a Silicon Valley company that reports on the business of BioScience. I enjoy the people I work with and am passionate about delivering excellent work for BioCentury. Each day is different with a new challenge.

Outside of work, my notable accomplishments and sources of happiness are my family- my husband, Bob, my sons, future daughter in law, and all my many  relatives and friends all over the U.S. One of my passions is staying connected with the community at large- those that are close to my heart. Currently, I am involved with a charity in East Palo Alto which serves the community providing  mobile shower trucks, a housing and a dining facility for those in need.

I am participating in this fundraiser because my son is a member of Putnam Clubhouse. My family and I are so very grateful to Putnam and want to do all we can to give back to it. Putnam is a vital life line for so many of its members. We want to make sure it is there for years to come to provide a place to belong, make friends and just be a part of the world.

To change the world’s perception of mental illness, you need to be part of the quest and get involved. So, I say…. in true Morgan fashion, “Make it Happen”.

So Come On and Show Us The Love.
